In advance of a collaborative exhibition in London, the video shows Alessandro Papetti and Aron Demetz working in the studio. A self-taught painter, Papetti points to Bacon and Giacometti as influencers of his work, particularly in their awareness of space and its fundamental relationship with the subject matter.

In an interview, Alessandro Papetti explains, “I am the product of my environment. I live in a hectic city where everything moves at a fast pace.” His paintings are directly related to this sense of movement and energy. ”It’s the sensation I get when I am moving quickly down the street, and I can only see buildings, and when I look up it seems like the sky is caving in on me.” Read the whole interview below.
